The Foundation for the Reconstruction of Ukraine<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

GAUFONDEN was established in March 2023 with the purpose of supporting local communities and displaced people who have been affected by the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Foundation provides exclusively humanitarian and civil aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Particularly in Chernihiv, the city of Mykolaiv, and the Mykolaiv region, which have been designated by Denmark as a priority area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Foundation's work is based on a donation of DKK 500 million from Rockwool A\/S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of the foundation's funds are expected to be donated to relevant projects by the end of 2029.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purpose of the Foundation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. The Foundation's purpose is, on a non-profit and charitable basis, to support relevant projects and initiatives that contribute to the reconstruction of Ukraine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. At the board's discretion, the Foundation may also support other non-profit purposes related to Ukrainian refugees in or outside Ukraine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. At the board's discretion, the Foundation may support other non-profit or charitable purposes if it is not possible, or unreasonably burdensome, to fulfil the Foundation's primary purpose.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    About our donations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Foundation\u2019s primary focus is financing the design and construction of seven new residential buildings\u2014ranging from 8 to 10 stories and comprising a total of approximately 410 apartments\u2014along with a basement capable of serving as a civil defense shelter and a kindergarten with capacity for 200 children; all these projects are located in Chernihiv.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Plans are in place to construct approximately 200 apartments in the city of Mykolaiv.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the Mykolaiv Oblast, approximately 50 single-family houses have been built across five different villages and are already in use; additionally, four medical centers have been constructed and are currently operational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    All housing units are handed over to local municipalities upon completion. The homes are intended for use by internally displaced persons. Residents are selected through a screening process conducted by the Foundation and overseen by the municipalities and local NGOs. Once peace is established, the units will be used as social housing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
